Dave, I found a T1 you can afford. If you Google, VW T1 Camper Van Tent, You'll find it's about $400.00

I could get used to it if it were like that! lol I actually looked into finding a used RV this past spring for the family, but it was expensive and difficult to find a space for it.

I could get used to it if it were like that! lol I actually looked into finding a used RV this past spring for the family, but it was expensive and difficult to find a space for it. Just a thought. Not that I'm shilling for them, but you might want to look at www.outdoorsy.com. Their tag line. "Rent an RV, motor home, trailer, or camper van from Outdoorsy for your next adventure. Outdoorsy is the #1 most trusted RV rental marketplace in the world."
You can just rent what you want for a weekend or longer from an owner who rents out their unit. From pick ups with tents and camping gear all the way to Class A Motor homes.
I don't know what's available in your area as it is people that own things renting them to you not a store like a Hertz or something. There are big rental companies like Cruise America RV Rental and Sales too.
If you want a family adventure next spring that could be a way to go. Rent somebodies rig. Have an adventure and give the rig back. No monthly payments on something that sits still most of the time in the back yard. (Why do you think they are renting them.) Let them make the payments and insure them and maintain the unit.
I'm looking at renting a teardrop trailer to pull behind my Jeep. Finding something under 2000lbs is not hard around here. I thought about a motor home to tow the Jeep behind, but then you have to comeback to where you parked it and move to the next place. I want to just keep going in a big circle back to home.
If you do go on a big adventure, I want pictures

I love the blue. Found this on FB marketplace - they are asking a lot, but it's really rare. I think they made this style for only two years and it only got the four instead of the five later Quantum's got, so it was considered underpowered. Still, if I had the spare cash!
