Merry Christmas dear readers. It's been a rough week this week, but we're still here! Jake took us to the emergency room last Sunday and we found out he had a perforated bowel. We think he might have gotten a sandwich that had a toothpick in it (because that was what they found inside him) and the surgeon said it penetrated his upper intestine on the way out, and then going back in. They said he had sepsis. He had round the clock care from Sunday until we brought him home Wednesday night. He's recovering slowly - the first thing to come back is his stubbornness as he fights taking his meds. This year his survival is our family miracle.
Be safe out there and make merry!

Thank you, Matt. He wouldn't eat today and he fought me so hard I couldn't give him his meds for most of the day. Late in the evening we manged to force the antibiotic he absolutely has to have into him in quarters. I had to go to the ER to get a new med, a liquid, that supposedly will make him hungry and thus easier to not only feed but to give him his meds. Fingers crossed.
