I hope everybody is safe and warm in the effected areas.
My daughter, who lives north of Portland Maine, said the bad news for her is the snow is over the dogs (2) heads. The good news is they are dachshunds.

When I was a kid we had dachshunds and they reveled in the deep lake-effect snow drifts found in northern tier New York state. They would dive into deep snow and emerge 10 or 20 feet further along, snow plastered over their faces and tails wagging. Bred to dig badgers out of their holes, dachshunds have shoulders hung for digging, huge front paws, and a breastbone keel to allow them to slide in and out of tough openings. I love those dogs.
