As Dabeagle mentioned in Latest Additions, there's a new contrast button in the top left corner of the new index pages (the lists of all the serial stories, short stories, and Sanitaria Springs stories, and the Authors Vault that collects all of the stories on the site). At the moment that's the only place that control has been implemented, but it should start appearing on individual story pages in the coming weeks.

Introducing the new contrast button, as well as the less-new font-size controls and a new standard appearance for story pages, is an ongoing project. At this point all the non-Sanitaria-Springs short stories have been converted to the new layout and color scheme. Please complain here if you find anything that seems to be broken! In the process of working through the short stories, we uncovered a Gee Whillickers story, "Northern Lights", that was published on the site a little over six years ago and inadvertently omitted from the Short Stories and Authors Vault pages, so it effectively disappeared from the site when it dropped off the front page list of new stories. That omission has been corrected. If that title doesn't sound familiar, I recommend it - Northern Lights - it's a good read.

Please complain here if you find anything that seems to be broken! Not complaining, just pointing out. The graphics for the Dabeagle home page and Facebook don't appear using Safari on iMac (see screenshot), but do with Firefox and Chrome, and also appear OK with Safari on iPad. With Safari on iPad, on the Sanitaria Springs index page the thumbnail images for each title initially load but then quickly disappear, leaving just the titles. At least for me.

The missing icons appear to result from Mac Safari not supporting the webp image format. Those icons have now been converted to png format, which should fix that problem.
The thumbnail images aren't meant to appear on mobile devices, in order to conserve bandwidth. It appears that iOS Safari loads the images before it runs the Javascript that sets the page attribute that suppresses the images. We'll have to look into that further.
Thanks for the feedback!

The problem with thumbnail images being loaded and then discarded on the Sanitaria Springs page on iOS devices should now be fixed. Testing of that fix revealed that some mobile browsers were displaying fewer columns than intended on the Sanitaria Springs page; the calculation of column widths has been tweaked empirically so that the Sanitaria Springs page should now make better use of the available space in the browser window.

I'm liking the new "Home Page" but had an issue with the Josh Aterovis just now. I got this after clicking the link. "Oops! That page can’t be found."
It continues with "It looks like nothing was found at this location. Maybe try one of the links below or a search?"
Those links did work.

That's actually a problem at joshaterovis.com - if you follow the link from the Links page you get that error. If you click on the Home link on that page, you get the same response. Same thing if you navigate to one of the other pages on that site and then click on that page's Home link. Something's broken on that site's landing page, and there's not a lot we can do about it from here.

I had messaged him and he said he'd made some changes; hopefully he's in good shape now.
