It's interesting so far, and I really wish I could find a Ty of my own because the name Tyler has always held a very special meaning for me.
I'm glad to finally see a Tyler in a story.
I'm also just wondering if you ever thought of having Nick come across Gideon? Surely sorcerers and magi have some overlapping spheres of influence.
Seems like the hint of Ty's brother being caught with a gun in a school yard rings a bell and Ty is going to find out he's already more entangled in Nick's challenge than he knows. His love for Nick will need to be genuinely strong enough to help him understand who Nick really is without holding any resentment about the truth.
He's already realized the truth of his fake boyfriend but is that enough to let him wholly trust Nick when he learns the bigger truth?

on the 00s there were more Tylers and Taylors than you could shake a stick at. It's a little less common now, at least in my reading experience, yet it made me chuckle that you haven't had any stories with that name. I may have actually avoided it a bit due to it's earlier prevalence in gay writing overall.

Took me a while to get started on it as I was in the middle of a series of books on Prime at the time you released it on Patreon. When I finally got around to reading it I couldn't put it down. I'm don't usually get into sci-fi/paranormal stuff, but you kept me enthralled from beginning to end, and that's saying quite a lot! Kudos!

My Patreon has seen it's largest increase with this story so I'm wondering if people are really hungry for this kind of story or if it was just a flash in the pan.

I don't think it is just a 'flash in the pan'. As the old saying goes, "it ain't your first rodeo" and though it's been a few years, this one seemed to keep me engaged more so than 'Wayward Son' if memory serves. As far as hunger for this type of story, my personal feelings are that anything that is interesting and well written will garner attention. For me, reading is a distraction from personal circumstances as well as this dystopian hellhole we're living in these days. Anyway, again, kudos and keep up the great work.

How is the knee doing? Am I too pessimistic/cynical when I point out the definition of Dystopian is; relating to or denoting an imagined state or society where there is great suffering or injustice? Because I don't think it is imaginary anymore.

You're not wrong, Neal. Here comes the Rs - Thomas even came out and said, in a companion opinion, that now that they have taken abortion away that the right to contraception, the right to have for same-sex adults to have consensual sex and marriage equality should be next. It's a nightmare.

It's still not 100% but it's better than the old knee and the constant back pain that went with it. Now if I could just get over the breakthrough COVID infection I tested positive for this past Wednesday. This summer is turning out to be one for the books. I suppose you're right, 'dystopian' is just wishful thinking nowadays.

The Possum Lodge Oath. (Red Green Show) The Oath works for me. It ruffly translates to "When all else fails, play dead." I liked the way he ended the shows "Remember, I'm pullin for ya. We're all in this together!" I'm pullin for ya. Here's to a speedy recovery and return to normal.
