The vintage clock hobbyist angle is fun and a nice reminder of A Matter of Time, one of my favorite Dabeagle stories and a miniature masterpiece.

I'll have to dig out a couple of examples of the clocks mentioned and post them.

I am the proud owner of one of Dave's restorations. It has been on top of my flat screen since July of 2021. As you can see it has lost less than 4 minutes since I put it there. I have two other digital clocks in the room. Both of them are off by 5 minutes each month and I have to keep resetting them. They just don't build em like they used to. As you can tell from the dust, I haven't touched it since I got it. GO Dave!

Chapter 11
Nice chapter it added more background to the story, and I liked it.
I like Darrion. I like his listening to Noah and the scene in general.
These two sentences "But back to what was bothering me. The idea of my mother losing a receipt was crazy" express my concern about Noah's mother. I thought she was adapting/adjusting to life with Noah. Now I'm worried she is meddling again and up to something.
Thanks for the chapter, Dave. Next Sunday won't come soon enough.

I haven't checked the desktop version, but on mobile the main Desperado page the chapter list ends with 11, but the link takes you to 12.

I haven't checked the desktop version, but on mobile the main Desperado page the chapter list ends with 11, but the link takes you to 12. Desktop too - with the recent update to the general page design on the site, there is no longer a distinction between the desktop and mobile versions of these pages. Thanks for letting us know - it's fixed now.

Chapter 12
Really interesting chapter!
Kendra is screwed up! “Guys are competitive! You should have been trying to steal me from him!” Hanging up was nice option. Probably the right way to go but, I'd like to slap some sense into her.
Noah's mother is worrying me. “Talking to my boyfriend behind my back is exactly the weird I mean!” She needs a hobby and to stop meddling.
Two pithy life observations I like.
“... arguably all gay people – are stuck in a perpetual state of coming out."
“... some people never stop being mean kids.”
I really like Noah. He has his priorities right. “I love you. I want to be rushed because we want to, not because we have no time. At least the first time.”
I like this story. I don't want to wait for next Sunday.

Chapter 13
First off, I wish I had Googled "penultimate" before I read the story. I wouldn't have been so upset when I got to the last line of this chapter.
"Penultimate means “next to last” or “second to last.” It's probably because it adds an emphatic extra syllable to the word ultimate that people think it somehow means “more” than ultimate—but it really means less."
I'm one of those people that thought it meant more. (As in no more.)
"Penultimate came into English in the 17th century from the Latin word paenultimus, a combination of paene, meaning “almost,” and ultimus, meaning “last."
Great chapter now that I know it's not the last chapter. And, it had some good stuff in it too.
RE: Kendra and Corey. I hope that is the last of his dealings with them.
RE: Marc. I'm sad for his situation. I glad Noah will still be there for him.
I think that the way Noah is dealing with them says a lot about his character. I especially like how he went straight to Walker and told him what Marc told him and how he was going to support Marc but not go back to him.
Noah's parents really annoy me. I feel bad for him.
That his dad knew the extent she was meddling and supported her is disappointing. I suspected the mother was meddling but not to that extent. That neither parent will apologize for the hurt and embarrassment she caused really annoys me.
Now that I know what penultimate really means, I'm sad that next Sundays chapter is the last chapter. I really like this story and would gladly read a lot more about Noah and Walker.

Chapter 14 and unfortunately last.
I liked the chapter content just sad that it is the last chapter in this story.
Walker's mother is great. Favorite sentence from her, “And no, I don't want to know the many ways you think of my son.”
Noah's dad was good in this chapter his explanation/apology was nice.
Noah and Walker comforting Marc was nice.
Noah, Walker, Marc and Darrion are characters I would like to read about again. Right after the story where Devyn reveals his new voice to everyone. Wink, Wink, nudge, nudge.
Thanks for another great story, Dave.
