I've used the music of Jethro Tull for quite a while from lyrics in 'Long Day' right up to the more recent 'Tull Unification', so when I happened across this in my facebook feed, I hastened to check it out. Jethro Tull got their name from a 17th century agriculturist, but that's only part of the story. AS I remember it, they were playing the clubs to try and get a record contract and, so that they'd get multiple chances, they were changing the name of the band each time they came back. On the night they were signed, they were playing under the name Jethro Tull - and there you go. Broadsword and the Beast is a favorite album of mine - the images evoked in 'Broadsword' are sweeping, almost inspirational as you imagine the person calling for their blade as they prepare for war. Contrast that with Beastie, which is more about that little bastard on your shoulder that talks you into all kinds of shit and then, gives you shit for having listened to it in the first place. The album cover was an awesome bit of fantasy - check it and the story out here.

You mentioned the band names in "Tull Unification". I didn't know this. Good information.

I do have to say, both 'Long Day' and 'Tull Unification' are my most favorite stories. I really wish you had expanded at bit more on 'Tull Unification', but I don't think you will ever come up with a character that tops Jake from 'Long Day'.

Jake is an all time favorite of mine. I did think that TU was done, saying what I'd wanted to, but one never knows.

I think you should do a couple off-shoots of the series, sort of like a 'where are they now?' feature for the main pairings, to see if they've lasted. Too really make things fun, you could do a crossover story and have some of them visit and meet characters from the SS stories.

Dabeagle, Thanks to you I've started to notice Jethro Tull music on my Sirius Radio. I remember hearing that music in my youth, I never paid much attention to who performed. Sirius tells you who performed the music. Classic Vinyl plays RR Hall of fame inductees. You've created a fan. (Actually I liked the music before, now I know who's it is.)
Keep up the good work. John

You didn't know?!? You poor soul. I've been listening to them since the late 70's.
