Chris James lives in Southern Florida and is retired, I believe.
CJames lives in Arizona and I seem to recall he has a tech job of some type that keeps him pretty busy. Circumnavigation was a huge undertaking, he's pretty dormant these days. But they're not the same person, first, I think their writing styles and themes are very different, and second, I've interacted with both writers (CJames on gayauthors, Chris James on AD) and, well, they're just very different people is all I'll say about that.
Someone communicated that the circumnavigation link was on tarheelwriter to CJ and apparently he didn't know anything about it.

Even though they are two entirely different people they are both talented authors.

True. Both of them pay very close attention to detail and do a hell of a lot of research as they write, and it shows. It's not easy to write that kind of stuff, and both do it well.

Just an FYI: Chris James and C James are NOT the same authors. Chris James was reported by more than one site to have passed away in April 2019. C James is currently active and has a 'fan club' on gayauthors.org. I just finished reading C James' 'Circumnavigation' in its entirety, all 1,080,269 words, more than the entire 'Harry Potter' series COMBINED. It's an incredible read and once I started it I couldn't put it down.

I don't recall ever seeing 'Circumnavigation' anywhere but gayauthors.org. Google is far from infallible, but it doesn't list the story anywhere else, either. I've been all over 'tarheelwriter' and didn't find any link to it from there. Chris James is a featured author there, but I've yet to find a C James authored story on the site.
