I enjoy watching Robin and Lucian's development not only in their relationship but as mentors. While all couples continue to grow together, I like how this story shifts the focus to how they connect with the other people in their lives who may be in a more vulnerable state, be it Sean, Jamie or Philip. It was especially interesting to see Lucian, who had issues with jealousy, counsel Philip about his problems with Boomer looking at other guys.

Thank you for those comments. I always wanted Lucien to outgrow most of his jealousy and show how much he's grown. I think it's to his credit that, now that Robin is hurting, Lucien is there to carry him until he can mange better on his own. I love their relationship.

Yeah that was another thing - Lucian being the caregiver (emotionally) and helping Robin work through his problems as opposed to the other way around - that started in the previous story about them but I read it more as Robin dealing with it more internally. "The Journey" had definitely had Lucian being more actively involved.

I like seeing Lu become more open. The entire interaction offering advice to Sean demonstrates his growing maturity. He's stepping in to help fill the place once occupied by Alex, Sasha and Kale. My heart aches for Robin but he too is progressing. The new bus is so needed and the guy Lu bought from is cool. I think it made him feel good to pass it on to someone that would make it part of his life. To see Lu's deep interest and Robin's sense of place. The Sanitaria Spring stories, yours and the others have become lasting favorites. Thanks for sharing them.

One of the fun parts about sticking with Robin and Lucien has been watching them grow. Now Lucien is strong enough to be the one Robin leans on when he's not so tough and I really like that. I think a good relationship needs to be flexible enough for two people to lean on one another. As to his new bus and the guy selling it, I'd like to think I'd react exactly that way if Robin and Lu were in my driveway.

I like Lu's non use of rubber gloves. I could never work with them. Can't feel what you're doing. Getting dirty is part of the fun. Ask Devyn.

I find the latex gloves handy and thin enough not to impact my sense of touch very much. It's also nice because my home isn't a garage so washing dirty, greasy hands in the sink isn't ideal.

When I read the story a second time, I got the feeling there could to be more to this guy than just selling the bus. It has been hinted that the guys might visit his place again, maybe as a place to work on the bus if it is not too far from Troy/Albany. Is he just sympathetic to the boys or has he had /does he have a male partner or gay relative? Is Phillip going to regress to little Phil? Has he swept out never to be seen again? Or will he as least get his walk into the sunset?

I like the guy with the bus idea and his angle.
I think Phillip is trying too hard and wants things one way. He's finding out that is just as bad as the way he was before.

It's hard to say what will happen to Philip. I think, having been coached in one direction he simply took it too far—probably thinking that Griffin would approve. It is hard for him to handle that Griffin is telling him he may not have acted in a fair way and, worse yet, that he's broken up with Boomer, who made him happy.

Yes, well, we all screw ourselves over on occasion. Personally, I've always been rather partial to those sorts of stories, as well as self-destructive characters, but that should come as no surprise Change is hard - and as Philip demonstrated, the challenge isn't just making the initial change but not going overboard as well.

Yes. We can't always make the right choices. Sometimes we screw up and our scars are what make us interesting and tell our stories.

Yes. We can't always make the right choices. Sometimes we screw up and our scars are what make us interesting and tell our stories. There are times we learn more from our scars-- IF we are willing to learn. And I have to agree with Lucian, also, about the Splenda, as quoted below: “My iced tea, too,” I said with a grin. Robin regarded me with an evil look. “Just for that I'll put some artificial sweetener in it. Where does your mom keep the Splenda™? That's your favorite, right?” Robin replied, teasing. “Don't you dare,” I told him, wagging a finger. “That stuff tastes like crap.” (Splenda ™ has the generic name sucralose. In many items, sucralose tastes good, but not as good in tea as the banned sweeteners called cyclamates (not sure of spelling).)
