I take character deaths pretty seriously. I know as a reader, killing the wrong character will make me stop reading or watching a show. I was watching a program called Dark Matter, neat show, and they killed my favorite character. Stopped watching. Everyone knows by now why I don't read Stephen King anymore.
As a writer I weigh those kinds of things very carefully. For me ther has to be a valid point, even if the point is the senselessness of it. It has to fit or I won't do it.

I gave an off the cuff opinion on Alex. You made a story on it. I was never comfortable killing off a character but I don't post stories often.
