Well, 2016 gasps and stumbles to its messy end. We've had some good things happen this year, despite operating for the whole year without prolific Ryan Bartlett posting with us. Of course, we did get his last novel and his last two Sanitaria Springs entries, so we were able to extend our goodbye. We also saw great novels from Cynus, Gee Whillickers and new writers joining us especially in the Sanitaria Springs universe in the form of Israfil, JohnInLex and reappearances in town by Cynus and Pedro. I had a so so year in terms of production, but did manage to get some time in the Springs as well as a novella completed. So what can we look forward to in 2017?
In Sanitaria Springs we can look forward to more from Israfil and I'm on JohnInLex to set aside silly things like real life in favor of our boys. Pedro has outlines for a fine number of stories and there is always the possibility of a new voice in town. Teddy Bower tells me he's working on something here and there, let's hope he's able to find his muse.
As far as I go I have ideas down and stories to come from Nik, Elliot and Micah as well as and end-of-summer move-in story for Robin and Lucien. There are also potential stories for Jamie and one for Devyn. I have a sequel to Things We Lost to finish and a new magical story, tentatively titled 'Dragon Proof'. Also I have a new person editing Wayward Son because of a technical problem that arose from the person doing the work completely disappearing. I hope he's okay. When the Wayward Son paperback is ready, expect to see the e-version drop in price as well as the, ideally, release of Things We Lost in tandem with it's sequel, Things We Found, first as an ebook to help the site with costs before being released as a serial novel. Or would you guys be good with both being available at once? I know some folks like to have e-books and might acquire it regardless of it's availability on the site.
As always, if you see something you think would work on this site, please send folks my way. If you're interested in giving it a try yourself, let's chat.
Happy New Year to you all, may it be a damn sight better than the last!

In 2017 I hope to find the time/inspiration to tackle at least the two unresolved arcs I have in Sanitaria Springs, being the Maggie/Kristen arc and taking Seth/Foster up to Foster's appearance at Royce's trial. Hopefully by posting this up here in public I'll hold myself accountable to that and make it happen. Sorry for dropping the ball on Sanitaria Springs this year, guys, at least in the later half of the year. Here's hoping that 2017 sees even more growth in our lovely little town. Thank you to everyone who helped grow this community! And thank you, Dave, for giving us a place to get together and share stories, ideas, and our overall love for the characters and worlds created by the many great authors you host. I'm honored to be able to post among them. Saehaebok manhi batuseyo! (Receive many New Year blessings!)

By sequel to "What We Lost," you're talking about "Things We Lost," right? Or are you planning to retitle it to complement the title "What We Found" as the sequel? Whatever, I'm really looking forward to it. FWIW, I'm eager enough that I'd pop for the cost of an e-book if you released it begire posting it to the site.
BTW, I notice that "Things We Lost" can't be found on the Serial Stories page, either on the page itself or in the drop-down menu, which is a shame because I think the story deserves the attention. As it is now it can oly be found via the Author's Vault links.

As it is now it can oly be found via the Author's Vault links. Yes, I noticed that awhile back as well but presumed it was a purposeful thing for whatever reason. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Other than that I have another four part novella in the works that is nearly complete and will need to be gone over with a fine tooth comb for editing mistakes, etc., that I hope to be submitting within the first part of the year. There are also a couple of other short stories that I need to revisit and finish up, well, several others, actually, and If I were to look through my library of incomplete work I think I could find another serial that is probably about half complete but the muse has deserted me on that one altogether and much to my dismay it languishes. Add to that the fact that we are also in the process of preparing our home for sale and then will be building a new place on the Oregon Coast, and you get the idea of how things may well go for my writing this year. Still, all work and no play makes Teddy a dull boy, right? I'm quite pleased to learn that there are new things coming down the pice for the SS universe as well, and I desperately need to get caught up on my reading there. Whatever the case, ready or not, 2017 HERE WE COME!!!

Nope, I just messed up the title of my own story. Also when things fall of the main page, at the latest, I have to go add them to the appropriate pages. I've made a note to do so with TWL.

Although my writing style is so much different from Dave's, I still hope to get up some kind of Sanitaria Springs story line. Of course, doing so will mean putting my GA Authors story on a back burner during development, but nothing is impossible. I just have to remember all hearts are not stained by evil.

I've always thought that SS was about hope, even during the hard times. I know some folks do write some very dark things and that's definitely their right to create what moves them. Unfortunately it doesn't always square with SS because of the existing story lines and characters. It can be hard to create some things because it might affect other lines that have been written - not impossible, mind you, far from it but each writer has to do their research and see where they want to fit in that universe. With four more graduating and moving to college, there will be space in the town for different things, even dark things. However, acceptance by the readers of the darker story lines may be harder to come by because of the expectation of hope.
SS is ours, though, and we have lots of places we can go. Just come to me with your ideas, guys. And yes, Carl, you are right. Not all are evil, even if they've had evil done to them.

I'm late to the party as usual, but HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone. May it be good to each of you and maybe, just maybe, the world as a whole will be a better place at the end of it, but don't hold your breath.
Dave mentioned above that I have a couple of outlines for stories. This brings me to another reason not to hold your breath in expectation. I am hoping to get back to writing some time in this first quarter but I need to clear my desk of other stuff first and that is already behind schedule. When I do get to writing I find it really hard work. So no ETA for stories at the moment I'm afraid.
