Shane's dad turned out to be a real piece of work. Not a homophobe exactly, not a religious fundamentalist either, but an extreme survivalist.
He could not blame Shane for being gay but as a survival extremist he sees not place for his son. Any worthy survivor must have a purpose after the fall, a reason to have survived, a role in the new order. Shane hates guns so he wont hunt for food. He's gay so he can't breed and be father to the next generation. He would be a useless eater as the Nazis called the takers of our time in Paul Ryan's America.
I loved the ending, Travis and Shane seem a good match. The Wrath of Khan is 35 years old. Its showing now locally. I just saw it Wednesday, 9-13-2017, its my personal favorite. Always enjoy your stories. Next chapter in the universe.

Dave has however gone on record as saying he doesn't especially like writing straight characters so this coupled with my previous assertions leads me to the conclusion that Parker isn't as heterosexual as he may think case!!! We can but wait and see, and enjoy the story unfold. You mentioned how it is becoming a bit trying to edit, so thanks again both for the story and your perseverance x I enjoy the characters that aren't as hetero as the think. Robin Kirkwood of Sanitaria Springs as example. I like how he calls himself Lucien-sexual. He dated a few girls before he met Charlie, his first boyfriend, and grieved terribly for him. He could just as likely dated and married a woman as Lucien although I suspect he's more gay than he admits. But I like characters that are open to whatever happens.

This is a great story. It is cool that people are more open about sexuality than when I was at that age. I’m really hoping for a sequel as I’d like to see what happens to these character. Great story.
