Good Morning dear Reader,
As is the norm in my house, things are happening faster than I can keep up with and I'm in a state of perpetual emotional exhaustion. My middle child is currently dealing with a very painful thing in therapy, which is accepting that the fantasy of going to live with his mother has to die. You may think that cruel, however his new reality is that he no longer lives with her because she's an unrepentant drug addict. She has a colostomy, has had it for about 9 months, because it's too dangerous to operate to reverse it since she's still using. In therapy he can admit he taught him to lie and steal and we're working on that, so that he understands it's wrong. This past week he stole his brother's fidget spinner and then stole the other one's iPod.
Our oldest is in a funny stage. Still, no one can tell him anything and he argues every point. He had a meltdown last week, but thankfully it didn't reach a physical level. The farther he gets, the more I worry about his lack of progress and how he just flat refuses to validate any other view other than his own. It continues to get him into trouble at school, though he claims friends he hasn't invited a single one home or been invited.
Finally our youngest, whose adoption is coming along any minute. He's an angry little man and hates his older brothers, but he has cause. he's full of attitude and not the cute kind. He probably has the most potential at this point, but he still has a lot of work to do.
Lastly I've been sick for the last few months. Trouble breathing, constant post-nasal drip and a few run ins that have left me with chills and fever but no flu or infection. I saw the ENT last week and she prescribed nasal spray and said some of my issue was acid reflux, though I don't feel heartburn or anything.
As far as writing and posting, here's what I have going on: I am trying to edit and post The List but am not being really successful. I will try to post again this week. I have a short story from Gee Whillikers waiting to post. I have sent the first of at least four chapters of a story arc following Jake Thayer and Jon Ellesier, I believe titled Picket Fences. The first part will be broken into two pieces as it clocks in at a whopping 125 pages! Although my muse seems to be drying up, I did make progress on some new work, as well.
In planning I started a new story from Nate's perspective. I have made a small amount of progress on a story from Micah's POV and expanded the end of summer story from Robin and Lucien. Nate's story will feature a major arc with Devyn. Other serials that I have been working on, the magic one that I initially called 'Dragon Proof' have been stalled as well as the sequel to Things We Lost.
Have a good week and happy reading.
