Yay! We did get our Nate POV after all and I loved every word, thank you Dave !! The more we get from him the fonder I become of him he really is growing up isn't he? Him ticking off Griffin was this in microcosm. Niki's behavior is somewhat worrysome hope Sasha and Alec can straighten him out a bit! So we are now up to date re Nate and Elliot's POVs I kinda feel we need another one in this arc to tie some loose ends up. Thanks again Dave 😊

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I've grown quite fond of Nate and am glad to 'do right' by he and Elliot. Now, wait...you're asking for two MORE? Nik and somehow even more of Nate and Elliot? And what loose ends?

And what loose ends? [brbrs What can I say I'm greedy !! I suppose I mean more of a continuation of Nate and Elliot's story and exploring their relationship some more as apposed to "loose ends" Niki I can take or leave tbh not sure why but he never really ' clicked' with me as a character (sorry) so I wasn't asking for a Niki story per se , just an acknowledgement that his ass had been straightened out by Sasha and / or Alec ! On second thoughts just Sasha I'm not sure Alec would have the sensitivity or emotional dexterity to deal with this one ( much as I love him , he is better suited to navigating other issues) Speaking of Alec and Sasha ( vicariously speaking ) will we be getting a Micha story?? I'm a demanding so and so aren't I? I can't help it these new stories have rekindled my SS addiction 😅😅 Thank you again Dave x

I think we all have our favorites and there are reasons we like some characters more than others. Some characters we never 'click' with. There are certainly enough in SS that you will have favorites and others that just aren't. As to what's coming, we have two more moving through editing - one at a time. Hopefully they will post the next two consecutive Sundays, though I'm going to have to pop my message about people not writing in again at the bottom.
That bring us up to partially complete stories. There is a significan't portion of material written for Jake and Jon. There are scenes that are incomplete that will have to be finished and revised before release. There is a very long Lucien and Robin story, which has left me in a bit of a quandary. See, I include sex scenes when I think they are appropriate to show emotion, how a character reacts to sex or their internal thought process. In this case, though, I indulged and went on for about 9 pages. Not quite sure if I should make that an optional bit of reading through a separate link or what. There is also a partial Micah story for summer vacation.
That's all I have in the works for SS right now. I have spent some time working on the Things We Lost sequel as well as a new story from an adult POV.

A 'Things we Lost' sequel really really excites me Ehren is one of the best written most interesting , endearing characters iv ever read either online or elsewhere - it's one of the few stories that I felt genuinely emotional about upon its completion. And that's from an emotionally retarded Brit!! 😆

Thanks for another SS story, Dave! I always like these.
I especially liked this one because of the locale. Cincinnati is my home and I've lived here for my whole life except the 14 years that I was in the Army. I can definitely relate to the mention of a "drunk laying out the hospital." University Hospital is a veritable maze of different buildings and corridors within buildings that seem to lead anywhere except where you want to go. The hospital is located on what is colloquially called "Pill Hill." At one time, there were 7 hospitals all within about a 5 mile radius. Two have since closed, but there are still 5 that are so densely packed that one can be walking around the campus of one hospital and suddenly find yourself on the campus of a different hospital without realizing it. Cincinnati Children's, University, and the VA Hospital are all so close together that simply crossing a street can put you on a different hospital's property.
I was happy to see Devyn get his surgery. Now we just have to wait for his long recovery. I can understand Griffin's fear, but I was glad to see Nate talk some sense into him. Nate is growing on me. I never disliked him, but I would never have named him as one of favorite characters. I guess as he's aged, he's, like all of us, matured. It's nice to see.
Unlike Simon, I've always had a soft spot for Niki. I will always remember being introduced to him as that scared young child in a Romanian orphanage. I think I can relate to the vulnerable characters like him, and Micah, and Griffin. Alec too, for that matter. Characters that are faced with huge adversities and overcome them appeal to me. As an extension of that, I tend to like the characters that help them overcome those adversities too.
Anyway, thanks again for another great story. I'm looking forward to the others that you mentioned.

I didn't just pick Cincy by random chance. Here is the article that started this whole thing.

I didn't just pick Cincy by random chance. Here is the article that started this whole thing. I figured there was some research behind this. Of course, anytime you write something it's pretty obvious that you've researched anything of a technical or medical nature. I didn't realize that kind of surgery was being done at UC. I would have thought that Cincinnati Children's might be doing something like that as they do some pretty groundbreaking work. Children from all over the country are sometimes brought here for procedures that aren't readily available elsewhere. Thanks again! Steve T.

Great story, Dave! I particularly like how Nate is maturing and was able to think with his head instead of his other head for once and reject Niki's advances. On that note, Niki's behavior is worrisome. I think his life in Romania and living for 14(?) years constantly being told "What you feel is wrong and evil!" and suddenly (during the peak of sexual development) being told "Nah, its fine and, hey, the Mythical Big Brother Sasha along with, like, ALL your friends have those same feelings and its AWESOME!" has, to put it gently, "unleashed a monster." I'm talking potentially Phil-like. He seems to view sex as the precursor to a meaningful relationship, perhaps the foundation of a relationship rather than a side-related thing. I mean, that's perfectly fine for short-term flings, but short-term flings aren't exactly good for one's self esteem and self-worth, long-term. s

Wow, such a great episode. I was happy to see Dev get his operation. I think Nate is being too hard on himself. Of coarse he is interested in his cousin being able to talk to him personally. But that's not selfish. He wants to be able to talk together because he cares about him. Yes Dev means a lot to him because he has helped Nate. But its clearly more than that. I'm glad that Elliot and Nate seem to be becoming drawn together. I hope it works out. They seem like a good match. Nik is heading for trouble but I think Sasha can step in and help. We shouldn't be so quick to condemn Nik though because he's had a messed up childhood. How he's grown up so far has caused a distorted view of sex, sexuality and intimate relationships. However, I can't close without applauding the upcoming Lucien/Robin episode. I really love those two. I don't think you need to separate the extended sex scene from the story.
