This is sooo worth the long wait! Aside from the usual critique of exceptional maturity and language (susurrus... really?), the story line and plot are perfect. [BTW, I should acknowledge that age appropriate writing/language would be tortuous to readers.] Micah, Carlo and Dominic are all beautifully realized, especially Micah's internal life. The scenes with Linc are delightful. I need to stop now before spoilers appear . I would like to see updates on Micah in later stories from other perspectives - more objective observations about his growth please.

I do know of one other author who wants to do a little Micah storytelling, but we'll see what happens. I don't have any current plans for Micah to appear in anything but as part of the ensemble.

I don't have any current plans for Micah to appear in anything but as part of the ensemble. Not necessarily appearance per se... think abbreviated versions of Christmas letters during regular weekly/biweekly conversations with family/friends.

Superb addition. A rollercoaster ride following along with Micah’s dawning appreciation of life in the Springs.
As for susurrus - sort of word Sacha might use. Would he have had cause to use it in front of Micah in Albany?
Talking of Albany, Alec and Sacha are looking for a different place. Is the geography such that they and the gang going to Rensselaer could rent a place between them - a Springs enclave in the metropolis around the state capital?
Technical problem: I was going to look up one of the stories that says where Kale, Chase and Linc are, ‘cos. i can’t remember. I found the link to the mobile version of the SS index page isn’t working properly. It looks to be doing the same thing as we had a while back. IIRC the page was looping to itself somehow so it never managed to load.

I readily endorse Pedro's comments about the story.
Can't comment on specifics without spoiling the story for others. Let's just say Micah grows a lot in a very short space of time as he finally comes to accept what is truly important, but its quite a rollercoaster and a few water splashes before that happens.

I think Micah just had a lightbulb moment. He was introduced in the winter, so he's had several months with Alec and Sasha. One hopes that lightbulbs eventually go off in those little heads.

In this story, I think Alice Kutsenko, Lucien, Jamie, and Dominic come across as main helpers of Micah's increased understanding, with major assists from Robin, Alec, Sasha, and even Linc. Alice Kutsenko and Evelyn Kirkwood and Isabella Casatelli may go quote a ways toward helping Micah's understandable implied reticence toward trusting some adult females. He must have some of that after his bio-mom used his back as a cigarette snuffer. And Alec's explanation of the emotional physiology of erections was priceless!
As for the mobile connection to the Sanitaria Springs pages, I have had no trouble accessing it, even though my Android phones are 5 and 6 operating systems behind the most current versions. (I can't upgrade without losing several apps due to lack of internal phone memory.) But I had to replace another phone which was almost seven OS behind.

Excellent addition. Sometimes, before I read the story, I just take in the title and try to work out who will be in the story and kind of figure out the direction from just eh title. My first thought was of Kale and maybe Alec (who must have a doozy of a scar after being stabbed). I was completely wrong as I had forgotten about Micah and the scars inflicted by his mother, although Kale and Alec's scars do come into it.
Honestly, Lucien's interaction with Micah after his shirt was torn off and his scars were revealed made me love him all the more. His words about everyone having scars, just some are on the inside were moving and so typical of him. He's one of my favorite characters.
Thanks for another great addition.

This may be the best short story I've read in a long time. Populating it with Sanitaria Springs characters makes it even better, since that gives it added dimension, but I have to say, Dave, that a story like this, so utterly humane and understanding, would be great in any setting.

I just loved it. Its a real treat to learn more about Micah. To see him grow and come into his own, accepting "the family" both real and found, and gaining his first real friends. Even though it seems to be summer only friendships. Carlo and Dominic live too far from Micah for it to continue beyond. A good story. I look forward to more.

Since his introduction in "Little Bit" (yes I know he mase a small guest appearence when Alec was stabbed) Micah has had a special place in my heart. It is so wonderfull to see a whole story about him, and to se him start to work through some of his problems.
