Since everything melted off around it, I got it fired up and drove it a few miles. Got it all dirty taking it down a gravel road. It's nice driving something with some nut behind it for a change. Your vehicles always have a nut behind the wheel!

It's good to see you. It's been a while. And it's a 305. It seems to work dandy. Could be the gears in the diff too.

my projects are different mostly. got rid of the explorer, and the saturn. have a Caprice and a Matrix now along with the old faithful truck. blew a intake or head gasket in the caprice though, so saving up the money to do some repairs on it.

Did you get the electrical problem solved which was draining the battery?

Not yet, I haven't found my test light. It don't seem to be a big draw, but I'm unhooking the battery overnight just to be safe.

Utter sacrilege putting a bowtie on a MOPAR. You should have put a HEMI in it. That's where I'm leaning with the Duhkota.

It's an AMC. It's before Mopar, so the small block is normal. It came with a Chevy V-6.

Eh, you know I'm a MOPARian, so I had to give you grief over crossbreeding it, even if it came with a Chevy V6. And since Chrysler bought AMC, they're now grandfathered in as historic MOPARs. I'm thinking I've seen some Cherokee/Gen III HEMI swaps on the boards, so they must not be too hard to pull off, especially on the older, pre-OBD models. Trying to get the wiring right on the newer ones seems to be a lot of fun, the main reason I've not actively launched into a full-on swap into my Dakota 4x4. I really like my cruise control and would prefer to keep it operational.

It's been on DD status for a couple years now. The muffler is rusted out so I need to change that. Good thing I have a new one here. No issues. For a 29 year old rig anyway.
