Henry Montague is a bit of a rake in old England - an embarrassment to his father, poorly understood by his mother and disliked by his sister. His best friend is Percy, a bi-racial friend of the family who Henry is deeply in unrequited love with. Henry's father sends him on a tour of the continent, and just about everything that could go wrong, does. With a bit of petty theft in Paris from the Duke of Bourbon our party is waylaid on the road to Marseilles, heads for Seville, then is captured by pirates, sails to Venice all the while pursued by the Duke. During these adventures emotions run hot and cold between Henry, Percy and Henry's sister, Felicity - and they all learn a great deal while having the adventure of a lifetime.
If you enjoy something out of step with the current times, this may be right up your alley.

There is a follow up book to this called 'The Gentleman's Guide to Getting Lucky'. It's a very short novella and while I recommend supporting authors, I found this addition to the original disappointing both in length and subject. It would have been better as a free downloadable or something attached to the original.
