Way back when I used to enjoy Stephen King's writing. Even on a re-read, I find his work holds up pretty well. One feature I always enjoyed - like discovering a secret - was when he crossed one universe with another - or let you know that they were the same universe. I don't know if he set out to do that, if he thought of it on the fly. Perhaps one afternoon he was sitting on his front porch, sipping a beer and thought 'wouldn't it be neat if I connected my stories by mentioning a character or event? Wouldn't that just be cool? It would be just for me, and the readers that made the connection. Wouldn't that be fun?
Yes, it would be. I wonder if anyone has caught on yet?

'The Talisman' and 'Black House', rock! King wrote them with Peter Straub--whose 'Shadowland' is also masterful.

I don´t know if I got it right, but is there a "Dabeagleverse" in which different stories are connected? (besides Sanitaria Springs, I mean). I´ve read stories from this site on and off for many years, I think but only recently I´ve been kind of "binge-reading" everything here ^^ I must confess that if that´s the case I haven´t found the common characters/places or events that connect everything... Any hints?

I caught that when I read Ferroequinology when it came out. Seeing those two guys again brought a smile to my face.

Even though I had re-read The Tull Unification a year or so ago, I didn't notice the reappearance of those two characters in Ferroequinology. Good to see them again now that I recognize them.
