I really liked the story. I like Isaac's introspection and considered way of going through his life.
Favorite sentences. "I put a hand on my chest. “It's rude to do that in front of guests." "Kari isn't wrong – it' s a fake holiday." (Aren't most of the holidays fake? Invented by Hall Mark and the candy companys?) Ooops! is my cynicism showing?
I especially like how Isaac and Kari are interacting now. It is nice they can talk openly to each other about how their lives/relationships are going. Comment after she sat on the bed was hilarious. Isaac's references to where Alan's head is, in this and other stories, keeps reminding me of a coworkers comment on our supervisor somewhere back in my past. "He needs a plexiglass belly button to see where he's going!"
And finally, I liked how Isaac and Marshall spent their first Valentines day together. The bulk of a couples time together does not involve sex acts. I'm happy to read that they are building a relationship that works for them and not what others think they should be doing.
Great little story. Thanks Dave.
(Sometimes I'm impatient. I don't want to wait until Friday to post this.)
