I was on a boat trip on the Thames in London and we went past Big Ben.
Our cockney guide told us ‘ Big Ben was named after Sir Benjamin Hall, who oversaw the installation of the Great Bell. We are grateful it was not named after his brother Richard.’
Said in a deadpan voice, it was some seconds before the chuckles started.
