If money is the root of all evil, why do they ask for it in church? View Attachment Loved the Pavlov question. No bells here, but my three hounds have their own way of letting me know that its their dinner time. Amazing how accurate their sense of time is. My Izzy wakes me every morning at 7:00 a.m. like clockwork. Damn her.

I apologize for this musing. I don't know how to edit out the unwanted parts. Minute 3:40 to 6:10 are what is impressive to me.
I usually avoid discussing politics and religion. But this clip makes me feel good about our future with kids like this in our present.
Mike Lindell Humiliated by 12-Year-Old at DNC;...
(Knowa De Brasco) The comments that this piece received are interesting too. Full disclosure' Knowa was invited to attend the DNC as one of the "Content Creators" by the chair of the DNC. Lindel and some... other people were not invited.
There are a lot of other young people on the web that are involved with politics or agriculture and are way beyond their years and body sizes. Like this amazing 8-year-old farmer.

(Dave, Admin, I won't be offended if you delete this after it is no longer relevant or if it offends anybody.)
Please Vote.

Funny enough, my oldest was at work and one of his co-workers happened across my FB page. He goes to my son and says, in a MAGA-Scandalized voice 'your dad's a raging liberal!'. I completely disdain what the right has become in my lifetime, I hate Trump and his ilk with a Shakespearean 'fire of a thousand suns' and will be voting for Kamala Harris - even though I'm very unhappy with some Dems for the treatment they gave Biden in the run up to his decision to step aside. I hope one day to vote for Mayor Pete for president. He's just an excellent communicator.
I appreciate your effort to be reasonable and I don't intend for the forums to become politicized; however I also freely admit I cannot understand LGBT Republicans; conservative simply doesn't mean what it used to. So...not offended, not removing.

Thank you. I don't want this forum to become politicized either. I really don't discuss politics or religion with anybody, friends, foes, forum participants or strangers. My point was to point out and take joy in the young people coming along who are so outstanding and not like how the media portrays most youth. There have been a lot of 20 somethings appearing on the web and I admire their commitment to their cause. I just don't mention them here. But... come on! A 12-year-old holding his own against an "adult." And, dare I say, behaving more like an adult than the adult. The 8-year-old farmer was also a delight for me. I may have spent a little time web surfing more of him. In each of the videos he is amazingly well spoken, knowledgeable and composed when talking with adults. There was one exception where he reverted to an 8-year-old. He was questioned about what he thought of all the fame from being a TikTok star. He blushed and titled his head down so you couldn't see his face as he said he didn't like it at first but then he found out people would send him hats. He collects ball caps. I notice that the young people like him that I stumble on are all "Home Schooled" and not by Ruby Franke kind of wackos. It saddens me that there are so many young people that don't get the kind of support and nourishment that he gets. Think what a great world it would be if all children received that kind of attention, encouragement and love. He is a great communicator. Have you seen the clips of him speaking in different countries in their language? He is conversant in 9 languages and fluent in 3 or 4 of them. How many other politicians can say that? Unfortunately, I think it is politically too soon for Pete in the Whitehouse. But a Walz-Pete in 8 years would be great. Don't cha think?

In general I'm not a 'home schooling' fan. I see it as an excuse for many unqualified parents to take on the role of instructor with little to no oversight and little to no education in the education field and spreading something like religion or what have you into their day, passing it off as education.
Having said that, there are problems with education. Kids can only be taught at the rate of the slowest learner in a class of 30 or more, which leaves bright kids bored and getting into trouble. Kids who can be polyglots at 8 years old aren't served well by public schools in general; but I wonder, though I'm not sure where the quote comes from - the individual can survive without society; but can society survive without the individual?

Thought of the Day
Youth is happy because it has the capacity to see beauty. Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old. Franz Kafka (1883 – 1924)
