I just read chapter one for the second time and I'm already in love with this story and it's protagonist. I don't know why Sam didn't send this to a publisher, if chapter one is any indication this is going to be brilliant.

Ok, I'll admit that when I saw the title I was thinking Flight of the Navigator, a 1986 Disney movie. Happily it's nothing like that. Drake seems to have his stuff together for the most part, although he does seem to have an irrational fear of people getting too close. This looks like a really good story. It's also quite serious. Kids being on their own seems to be a national scourge and far too little is being done. I can't wait till the next chapter appears so I can find out what happens next.
John (who probably gave away too much about his age.)

I always remember, from the movie, a line about having stuffed the kids head with tons of data. The kid asks, 'What happened?' and the robot tartly replies, 'It leaked.'

This was one of the funnest stories to write of all the stories I've ever written, and I'm glad to see that everyone seems to be enjoying it. This is the first place I've announced it but . . . I'm planning a sequel now.

Later in the evening, as you lie awake in bed With the echoes of the amplifiers ringin' in your head You smoke the days last cigarette, rememberin' what he said what he said.

This is a really good story, Samuel. I hopped over to GA and read ahead a bit.
Trying to intentionally be vague, since some reading this post may not have read any of the story yet, I like how Adelaide reacts with the various characters of the story, and yet is almost constantly with Silas.
But seriously, I like the story. Do you yet know how many chapters there will be?

James, thanks for the video. I'm always happy to add more music to my list. Paul, 27 chapters is correct. Hope you can last that long. Even though I know next to nothing about dogs, I tried to keep Adelaide as consistent to what I know as possible. She's Silas' perfect companion, through and through. Dennis, Glad you're enjoying the story. And thanks for noticing the link! Dave, thanks for correcting the link and sorting out the story for me. I'm happy to be hosted here! Thank you for your diligence!

Some far, this is one of the best stories I have read.
It would certainly be okay with me, Dave, if you declared Tuesdays to be an "extra Thursday" and posted two chapters a week instead of one on this great story. (I know that probably won't happen, but I can dream....)

Twenty Seven Chapters? That's twenty seven weeks. I'm an old man. I'll (Hopefully) have another birthday before that story if finished.
Cynus, I'm really liking this story. I have hopes for what will happen but who knows. I'll just have to wait and see.
Also, I'd like to second that two chapters a week suggestion.
BTW, Dabeagle, How long do you have to be a member before you stop being a "New Member?"

Lug is a senior member due to age.
John I think it works based on number of posts, not length of time as a member. I'll consider the two a week suggestion - it means I have to format two and there is a time cost involved with that, as well.
