I'd like to publicly thank Darrell for his help (he did most of the work, really) in getting one of the first stories I ever hosted ready for easy reading. If you haven't read it, give a try with the classic ' Turnabout' by Chris G. Is the pastel aqua text on white the intended color scheme? That's how it's displaying for me with Firefox 48.0.2 and the same with Safari iOS on the iPad, and it's extremely difficult to read - an ordeal, in fact. Fortunately the reader functions on both are able to convert it to black on white Yes it was intended. The original logo is on the title page and I wanted to maintain some link to it, perhaps unwisely. I'll look at adjusting the color scheme.

Yes it was intended. The original logo is on the title page and I wanted to maintain some link to it, perhaps unwisely. I'll look at adjusting the color scheme. The text color was adjusted, I hope this helps. Greatly. I found the original color almost impossible to read, even after turning down the brightness on my monitor (which did help, but not enough). The new color is eminently readable.

With another treat tossed to Darrell for his help, Betrayal by Melina Catts is now updated. If you've never given it a shot, get set for a fast read at only five chapters.

My first story, something unpolished that was supposed to be about how tough moving is but would up veering into ghosts and demons before being rebooted with 'Begin Anew', has been reformatted and the language has been given a light going over to catch some typos and adjust a little grammar, but nothing like a real edit. It's far more legible, if a bit nutty with changing tenses - Moving Is Hard is back online.

Oh wow! I was wondering about this story just the other day. I never did finish it and was wondering if I'd ever get to! LOL This is a nice surprise 😊

Oh boy. So for anyone that read my list of Do's and Don't's for writing, look no farther for an example of what not to do than my own Begin Anew, which has now been given a slight polish for mistakes (oh boy) and formatted with a new homepage as well. I did a whole bunch of things here that I mentioned not to do - so when I say that, you understand I have some experience with why those are now rules. Changing tenses, points of view, characters with similar sounding names, and wow does Justin cry a lot. I mean A LOT. Boy must be dehydrated!
The original homepage for Begin Anew had character photos with a little bio for each. In case anyone was interested, I've added them to a Pinterest account. I may add other images for upcoming stories or past inspirations to that account, so you can follow it if you enjoy that kind of thing.

And I was in the process of reading it once again before the holiday weekend interfered with my reading program. Is it edited and revised or just given a facelift on the page?

And I was in the process of reading it once again before the holiday weekend interfered with my reading program. Is it edited and revised or just given a facelift on the page? Darrell, who has been working behind the scenes to spruce up the older stories, gave it a very light going over. I'm not sure it's be a full on edit, but he did fix a number of things. For instance there was a chapter or two where I somehow managed to put the marked up version of the story rather than making the changes and then putting it up. So little yes, little no.

I always felt Kris was one of your best creations. Wonderful combination of feisty and vulnerable. Henry is great too, and his warfare/flirting with Eleanor is a riot.
BTW, the link to Chapter 20 on the index page goes to the old version of Chapter 3. There's also no link there to the Epilogue, unless that was intentional.

I have now combined the Finale and Epilogue and they appear as chapter 20. Thanks for letting me know!

Darrell here. Not a full-on edit - I definitely had my copy-editor's hat on for this one. Punctuation and typos, except for chapter 10 - that's the one where the marked-up copy got published. Hopefully I managed to distill chapter 10 down to what it was intended to be.

Adjusted several Home Pages to reflect the new standard. Stories were not re-edited or changed: Wayward Son; changed image to match book Rainbow's End Life in a Northern Town Long Day; added image Image replaced on Ticking to one that was open use. Image resized on Wild Heart Adjusted link to Balcony and Baysville so that they open in a new tab, like all others. On the list to be updated; the list is not complete: Through Time; create image Tales From the Quarry Don't Look in the Closet Gold Tinted Spectacles The Other Side Disenchanted Dare Shameful Balcony + image Baysville Unanswered Prayers While working on Long Day, I recalled having used an image ages ago - it took me using the Wayback Machine to find it, but it represented Greg as described late in the story:

All the chapter pages for Rainbow's End are appearing as broken links for some reason. They also are all Chapter One I was just trying to read it for nostalgic reasons.
