I was working today at the ice rink, and a boy showed up who was the spitting image of Seth McAllister, or at least my mental picture of him. I was wondering if the readers ever do that with the characters they see in our stories. Do you ever come across people who fit your image of characters we've created, or that any other authors have created? Or am I the only one that carries the characters around everywhere that I go.

My nephew, who is now almost 17, has always reminded me Prez from Pacific Rim Division in the CSU. There is also a blond haired guy who runs past my house a few times a week with his HS cross country team that is exactly how I picture Devyn from the Sanitaria Springs story line.

I met a guy once that could double for Kenny in Drivers The Quarry. Blonde hair and the wire glasses.

Some years back I saw a boy who was with a dog, about 16 or 17, who could have been my mental image of Silas and Adelaide from The Navigator. The boy was not wearing a backpack, but otherwise it could have been them. Once in a while I have seen others.

Kale waited on me at Starbucks once which was really weird. I can't picture him working in the service industry.

I'm pretty sure Austin (Hamster) goes to my gym. We spot for each other occasionally.

"Austin" waited on me at a local fast food Mexican place today. Good looking guy.

Going through some older posts, this made me think of a conversation I had with Cynus last year around September. We were invited to a bring-a-friend sort of event at a local amusement park and I saw a boy that screamed Sean Kelly. We ran into him several times, but originally my husband and I were waiting while our son and our foster were getting on some fool thing here they lift you a mile in the air and drop you. The smile on this kid, total Sean.

In the beginning or now? Vast difference.
I'm no fan of amusement park rides. I've been on a few.

Great question! There's a kid whose family very recently purchased a home on our block who is the spitting image of how my imagination created Robin Kirkwood to look. When I first saw him it was as if I'd entered some sort of alternate universe!
Also, when I write I nearly always imagine my characters looking like someone I've seen or that I know.

I recently saw someone who was the image of Nathan Kennedy in a local store.

I was in a museum recently, and a gentleman and son came in who might have been Judge Andrew Kirkwood and Sean Kelly. His wife, however, was not my image of Evelyn Kirkwood. Her hair was dark, and she was short and overweight.

In June of 2015, "Austin" took my order at a local Mexican food place. Today, a different "Austin" took my order at the same place. How weird is that?

I'm getting jealous. I haven't seen these guys, or any of mine, in public for a long, long time.

Not necessarily in the flesh, but i got a customer email the other day from one Justin Corcoran.
Just when I was thinking that all of dabeagle's characters were fictional.
