This is a feelgood story. Even worked a bit of Quantum in for good measure. This is told from Devyn's perspective. There is a surprise or two too. Muttley

I'm not sure what part of Quantum you thought you saw in there. Thanks, though, for the comment and I'm glad you liked it.

It was Dev in the garage working and learning. It reminded me of Quantum where the same scenes played. Made me feel good that someone else was interested.

A great story. Devyn and Griffin continue to impress with their maturity and sensitivity to their friends and most importantly each other. I can't wait to see what the future holds for them.

I liked the stories woven together into one story. Story 1: Devyn and Dale getting to know each other better, Devyn discovering he likes mechanics work, and Dale's continued growth into a decent father and human being. Story 2: Devyn and Griffin and the sexual challenges of horny kids versus the emotions of wounded kids, plus parental guidance. Story 3: Griffin and Philip associating with each other, working on helping Philip being a decent human kid. Subplot A: Lucien and his VW bus, with mechanical difficulties and other capabilities shown. (Dave, you outdid yourself on this one.) Subplot B: Sometimes sex can hurt and feel good at the same time. But sometimes, sexuality may make one or both parties nervous. Subplot C: Going beyond wrong assumptions toward clearer communication.
Questions to be answered in future stories, suggested directly or indirectly by this story and related stories:
[1] Is Nate gay or bi? [2] Will Dale Kennedy continue to make communication and understanding progress with Devyn and with Devyn's mother? [3] When do we get to see Elliot in a story again? And when does Sahara next perform in a story? Further, shouldn't the band teacher, Mr. Norris, be winning an award for fashioning a great band out of piano, guitar, drums, base, flute, and cello, with some of those also singing vocals? [4] Is Griffin still seeing Dr. Freeman from Itty Bitty Bestie?
Good story/stories. I'm looking forward to the next forty plus tales in the Sanitaria Springs associated stories.

1 - I'm considering a Nate story, where that would be answered. 2 - I think it's probable that Dale has seen the error of his ways. 3 - That's an interesting question. Ryan and I have discussed Elliot within the last month or so and there is a possibility you may see him again, late this year. Currently there are a few months worth of stories written, which will carry us through the summer. 4 - Griffin will, likely, be in therapy for a long time. The thing that kids, and sometimes adults, don't realize is that if you have a trauma and deal with it, it can still affect other parts of your life at a later time. For instance - Griff suffered a big trauma, and he understands that. But, now, it's affecting his ability to be intimate with someone else. Just because progress was made here, doesn't mean it's over and dealt with. In the real world, he could have lots of questions in his head, he could suffer all kinds of weird thoughts based on how Royce destroyed his confidence and self worth...like Lucien, we carry those scars and sometimes they aren't as healed as we'd think, or when taken in a new situation, they break open again.

Just catching up on stories... I really liked the way this one unfolded, but I have some nagging insecurities, too... Mostly, it might just be me, but it seems like some of these guys are getting pretty sexually charged (maybe overcharged) lately, it seems to be such a central theme in their banter more often than not, and a larger proportion of intimate scenes are coming up. I'm glad someone else mentioned the sexual challenges and the emotional obstructions, cause i was a bit ill-at-ease reading the scene with Devyn and Griffin. Sure they both seemed to want it, but it seems to me like the timing wasn't quite right, and they may have jumped a little too far. I haven't read past this story, yet, so I don't know how things carry on. I really like the whole bus culture, that thing deserves a story of its own (from its own perspective ), and Lucien seems to have developed into quite a garage monkey. The way Devyn's extended family entered the story was also pretty dramatic, too. I was initially worried his cousin might not be friendly to Devyn, but they both actually have a lot in common, especially difficult acting family members, and traumatic experiences that they can work through together, and find strength together. And they have socks that they can share .
