Samuel, I am very glad to see this story. The premise is great, and the first chapter has left me intrigued and wanting to read more.
I am interested in seeing how the interaction between the characters mentioned so far begin and continue.

Good start, Cynus.
I've not had very good experiences with religion (Catholic all through grade school and high school) so I'll be interested to see how you handle this admittedly difficult topic.

Somehow I must have missed this message when it was first posted. My apologies to both of you. Thank you for your interest, and I hope I'm able to keep it as we move forward. This story is shorter than my last one, but my hope is that you will find it adequate for the time you invest in it. As some of you may know, I grew up as a Mormon, though I no longer consider myself among their ranks. Before I left the church, however, I did serve as a missionary, and so this story is coming straight from my experience, even though the people in this story are fictional.

I just caught up with chapter 5. I'm enjoying this one so far.
While the whole idea of spending two years knocking on people's doors and proslytizing is completely foreign to me, I do have a confession to make. On more than one occasion, I've fantasized about corrupting one of those fresh faced guys. Maybe that's why they always travel in pairs...so that they can keep each other on the "straight" and narrow.
Looking forward to chapter 6.

I don't always get to stories right away - one of my downfalls is that I'll find a series of books and simply inhabit them for a while. Also, with some authors, I accept whatever work they send me knowing they are in line with my site goals and because I trust them. Cynus, of course, is one of those and I simply post his stories without pre-reading them.
Today I finally sat down and read what he's posted in this story - and it's really worth your time. Anyone that knows me is aware of my animosity toward religion. If I hadn't known the quality of the writer beforehand, I may have turned back right away - but it's become a fascinating look into the struggle from a religion that I wasn't raised in. If you haven't read this yet, you really should.

The story is gaining even more interest and momentum with each chapter. The last several words of Chapter 7 certainly raise the suspense level.

One of the perks of being the one that runs the site is I get the stories all up front. This morning, I couldn't resist finishing it.
Fucking ninjas chopping onions, man.

Fucking ninjas chopping onions, man. That brings up a funny picture, Dave-- Actual ninjas fucking each other while chopping onions. Samuel, this was a great story. Shorter than I expected when I first began reading it, but in the end, just right in length.
