I couldn't really decide whether I wanted Asher and Sean to get together in this episode or not. I didn't want Asher to get hurt, but I wanted him to be happy. I can see Sean wanting to do this for his friend, even though he really wasn't into it. He has always struck me as the more sensitive and considerate of the "near-twins." The fact that he agonized over his decision proves that. He and Jamie really are good kids, in their own ways. They end up doing the right thing.
Let's hope Asher and Boomer find a connection when school starts.
Despite what happened, I really don't think Asher could have found better friends than Sean and Jamie, they all showed a of development in this situation and they are definitely strengthening the foundations of the connection between them.
I'm just a bit concerned that Sean is finding making any kind of choice so difficult. It's a tough situation for him to be in. He may just want to follow Robin's notion of loving the person, and not the gender, but then he's technically already in that mindset.
I do just have one minor suggestion, in that I feel the story did come a little out of nowhere. I know it was connected to a previous story, but until now, we've never really had any glimpse into how things were going with Asher. It would have filled out the story nicely if there had been one written at some point that showed Asher growing with his own 'new' family at home, learning how to interact with new parents and a new brother. I even think that a story showing Scott trying to identify with his new brother and what he's been through could have been a nice background to what happened here.
