This story was a chore. I was skeptical about starting it, even though I'd sort of committed to it in 'The Space Between'. The majority of it was written before Ryan's untimely passing - in fact he'd read all of the completed works and was anxiously awaiting the latest 'Lu' story - he had a fondness for Lucien.
We had a discussion, once, about George RR Martin - what with his penchant for killing off characters. Ryan was not amused with my comparison, and then he sent me the beginnings of some GoT fan fiction he'd started. One of the last names he called me was 'bastard' for making him choke up concerning Philip's scene at camp - I won't spoil it.
Ryan will be laid to rest on the 19th. He'll have been cremated, not that it matters I suppose. I'll be starting a thread to share some of the conversations he and I had via email; some behind the scenes that includes a lot of Sanitaria Springs decisions, and some other more personal conversations.
He was very pleased I was able to recapture Robin's playful side and, of course, I hope you enjoyed it as well.

I've read it once already. It took all day. Time to read it again to see what I missed. I didn't see Jamie's tryst happening.

This was excellent! This was such a great idea to have a few days for the "found family." Some of these guys are lucky in that their families are supportive, but for many of us, the only family we have is the one we make for ourselves. Leave it to Alec to put something like this together.
I'm really to starting to feel bad for Phillip. He seems to be trying so hard, but he just can't seem to catch a break. I doubt Nathan is the one, but maybe he and Nikolai could hit it off? Nikki is so sweet and Phillip seems to be thinking with more than just his little head now. Who knows?
The surprise wedding at the end was the perfect ending to this faound family reunion. Thanks, DaBeagle for another wonderful addition to the SS saga.

You'll be seeing Philip in a few weeks, Steve, fear not. My dad always said 'Family is what you make of it' and that sure is the case, here.
Thanks, Steve.

I’m more than glad to see you putting pen to paper again, and the “Found Family Camp” is a perfect expression of where we are with Sanitaria Springs and its characters. Gathering the boys all together was a wonderful decision leading to a fabulous milestone event in this story’s evolution. Thank you for it.

James, when are you going to join us in the deep end of the pool instead of wading?

I loved this chapter - so many little stories all pulled together. It must have been a nightmare to write, but I'm so glad you did - thanks.
