Great story,, Dave. I think Ryan Bartlett would have been proud of your treatment of the story.
I will make some predictions here. This is the continuation of two story arcs, and the beginning of a third.
Continuation prediction one: The story of Lucien getting his new bus the way he wants it.
Continuation prediction two: Philip and Boomer/Sterling Bennett in a romance.
Beginning of arc prediction one: The story of how someone will discover that Foster McGuire was sexually abused by his brother Royce.
And the poetry at the end was interesting, as well.
I base the last prediction on several things that happened in the life of someone near and dear to me; something that happened to someone dear to a college roommate; and the clues from the story itself, as well as clues from the story Bunny and the story Itty Bitty Bestie.

I'm glad you liked it, Paul. As to your predictions, I'd like to answer them but I may give something away, so I'll have to be content with being enigmatic for now.

Ah, but the bus upgrades are an ongoing story already. How about if you (or someone) comes up with a story of how Lu and Teddy and Trent work on the new bus, or Lu and Niki, or Lu and Nathan work on the bus? We already know Dev and Griffin had worked on it....
When is the next Cynus story coming for Sanitaria Springs? Is one already written? And how about some scenes of Robin and Lucien in Auto Shop?

A new story is in fact already written, but still needs to go through the editor and needs a few minor changes I know of already.

I'd like to comment on #2 and #3. I'll look forward to reading more about Philip and Boomer. Philip used to be such a weasel, but he seems to be trying so hard to reform himself. I'd like to read more about that and about Boomer, too. I was getting a bit weirded out by the initial appearance of Foster McGuire, too. Except I started wondering back to what little we know of his brother, Royce. How did Royce end up the way he did - a suicidal rapist? Did something very bad happen to Royce when he was much younger to trigger such behavior? Could that same something very bad be now turned upon Foster, now that Royce is unavailable as a target? Can our young heroes help Foster (like they helped Griffin in the past) before it is too late? (I'd like to make the point that I am absolutely not excusing Royce's behavior in earlier stories! I'm just wondering if he could have been originally a victim who later became a perpetrator himself.) I'm looking forward to more news from Sanitaria Springs. Thank you, David.

Cynus and I have been talking a lot lately, which is always a good thing. There are two stories complete in the timeline where Cynus's characters haven't quite caught up - one from him and one from me. We do have more coming and hope to integrate them at a later date.

Nevermore is important for a number of reasons. The one which affects me the most is that it inspired an entire story arc for me, based upon something which happens in the story. I'm currently in the middle of a short story competition which is keeping me from working on SS, but that will be over in a maximum of a few days and then I'll be able to focus on getting more stories out.

I'm assuming that Foster is in idea phase.

"My characters are always in idea phase," Cynus answered cryptically.

"My characters are always in idea phase," Cynus answered cryptically. ...and, oddly, speaking in the third person. We must be nearing his imperial phase.

I've been wondering similar things, myself, since reading this story... Especially since we now have stories showing Foster together with Seth, so he should be (we could assume) reasonably happy, now. Now we know that those stories technically occurred 'in the past' according to the timeline, so by this point, maybe something has again happened to Foster, or Foster and Seth and their relationship that we haven't seen, yet. In this story, he appears to be wearing the persona of a traumatized victim. (Unless someone wants to revise the story to show Seth there with Foster, now).
I think it is highly likely that we will see that Foster has had a negative relationship with somebody, in some way... Maybe multiple people as a result of the fact that Seth long ago turned his friends against him. Even if that issue is resolved, now, Foster still had five years as a loner, most likely being the victim of countless bullies.
I was also wondering about the possibility of his brother, too... Personalities like that often would not be content with just one victim, and Foster would have been an easy target, especially, again, after Seth revealing him to everyone and turning his friends against him. There's also Foster's comment from 'Cravings' that sex isn’t always love, and how he should know that better than anyone.
I'm actually also speculating on their father, too, even though the description was brief, the tall, imposing mountain of a man, doesn't seem like the type of man who easily accept one gay son, let alone two... With Royce, at least he get strong and violent to maybe compensate for something, but Foster doesn't seem to have gone that way, although if he haldn't been socially isolated by Seth, maybe he might have at least followed his brother into a few sports teams.
On the other hand, their father could also have just been the type who was just never around, in which case, Royce probably took his monster lessons somewhere else, and Foster was just the easiest victim.

I do love speculation. Warms my cockles, it does. That made me laugh out loud! Reminds me of the reruns I used to watch with Barney Fife of Mayberry (Andy Griffith Show). ... and heaven knows we all need our cockles warmed from time to time!!!
