Sitting on the side of the road waiting to catch speeders, a State Highway Patrol officer sees a car puttering along at 22 miles per hour (35.4 km per hour). He says to himself, “This driver is just as dangerous as someone speeding.” So he flips on his light and pulls the car over.
As the car stops and he walks over to it, he sees five elderly women, two in the front and three in the back, and all are almost as white as ghosts and shaking.
The driver, obviously confused, says, “What seems to be the problem, Officer? It can’t be speeding; I was going exactly the speed limit, 22 miles per hour.”
The officer, now understanding, says to her, “Ma’am, this is Route 22, and the speed limit is 65 miles per hour. But why are the ladies all shaking and pale?”
The driver laughs, and replies: “Officer, they will be okay in a minute, but we just got off of Route 119.”
