Hi Folks, I know I haven't been posting, but I have a reason I hope you'll understand.
I think you all know we are foster parents. What you may not know is that when new foster parenting classes are graduating, they have a panel of people for them to ask questions of - DSS workers, Foster Parents and even adopted kids. We are a fixture, partially because we are a successful foster family but also because Blake was in the system and adopted through it.
One family we grew close to. Our son is friends with theirs, we do cookouts and dinner, meet out for coffee, help each other with the stress of special kids. They have poured themselves into a child that has spiraled out of control - drug seeking/stealing, marijuana and then culminating in stealing and taking her own meds in an attempt at suicide.
We aren't the primary family dealing with this; it's not our kid or placement. Instead our role has been supportive, and just the night before last that was just talking until nearly one in the morning. Then there is work, our own kids, dealing with the bureaucracy in trying to get our foster son into summer camp (they called at 4pm today needing immunization information, which they had never requested, or he couldn't start Monday.)
My profound apologies, I have not forgotten you or the writers. I will do my best to make a post this weekend, though I have to finish up the red bus as someone is coming to look at it this Sunday, and hopefully he buys it *crosses paws*

dont worry about it Dave..... as much as i would love to read new stories.... "real life" is much more important than anything on here. You have to take care of yourself and your family first.
