I admit the description wasn't a huge motivating factor to read this book, but rather that I'd read The Music of What Happens by the same author. Rafe, Seamus Rafael Goldberg, is tired of feeling as if he's just known for being 'the gay kid'. His grand experiment is to change schools so that he can have a fresh start as a 'straight' boy. This has unintended consequences as Rafe goes an a journey to discover things about himself, labels and who we are as people. As I read the book, I grew more invested in the characters and was pleased with the development of the characters - enough that I ordered the book Honestly Ben. which follows the same characters from Ben's point of view. Any sexual descriptions are fairly low key and this could be confidently handed to a younger person.
