I know you should tie up loose ends, but I was kind of hoping for a Dabeagle/Stephen King 'thing' with Drew's mother and a hatchet. Both mothers are really well drawn, and have a great tension about them. It was inevitable that Drew moves next door, but I wasn't expecting Mrs. Petrakis to be so darn nice and reasonable about it. God certainly moves in mysterious ways! This struck a chord: every journey has portions we must walk alone. Roll on 16!

Chapter 16. Well, Cole's mother certainly didn't disappoint! His Grandfather, too (I was almost expecting a spittoon welded onto the truck). Great chapter! Much as I love the daily posting, I'm wondering if hourly might be on the cards?

I noticed the red hat and my first thought was MAGA? but figured you probably wanted to avoid such a blatant political barb by saying it. Trump and his criminal gang have completely ruined red hats for everyone! :-)

Red hat...? Probably not this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Hat_SocietyTo me the truck and the braces say red neck. Chapter 17. Sex, IT, and a sex-ed class with Teo. Coolness! IT does seem to be a good choice, though The Talisman would work too. I only hope Drew doesn't end up in a version of Black House.

I know you should tie up loose ends, but I was kind of hoping for a Dabeagle/Stephen King 'thing' with Drew's mother and a hatchet. Maybe i wouldn't be able to get along with Cole and drew because I can't stand horror. Gives me the creeps for real, not for fun. I sometimes feel like Stephen King should be arrested just for thinking like that. Why can't Cole's mother and old redneck even comprehend how stupid and dangerous their own violent intentions and actions are? You would think getting arrested once might clue you in that your actions are in the wrong and not to try it, again. Or is getting arrested repeatedly a fun pastime in America? Why don't you tell the guys on GA they have to come here to post if they want updates. For reading the book together, i was almost hoping that you would have them read out loud to each other. Maybe making up funny voices and acting out the best scenes.

Maybe I should clarify. I don't normally include anything 'political' because there are sometimes people who want the same things but have different ideas about how to get there. I've reached the stage that I do not feel that way with respect to most Republicans and definitely not with Trump supporters. In this case I am emphatically saying the red hat is intentional and this is how I see his supporters.

I enjoyed Stephen King for years, and admire the thoughts he has on Twitter currently. He lost me as a reader when he killed off my favorite character in The Dark Tower, which was an amazing story besides that. He has some work that is subtle, and others that are winding rides that you know bad things will happen on, but he writes some great stuff. I even took inspiration from one of his stories that wasn't anything anyone could label 'horror' and created Ourobouros Inc as a homage. Some people have decided that their point of view is more important than the law (not that the law is necessarily right) and feel that yelling will get them their way.

Chapter18
Aww, bless. Both Cole's mom and MAGA grandpa arrested. Stupid people. Drew's gonna get an ulcer if he doesn't deal with his anger issues.

I'll hate to see this one end!
Like Nick mentioned above, I'm feeling a little worried about Drew and his sometimes disproportionate anger. I was a little uncomfortable with his actions regarding Joe Fimmer. Drew deliberately baited him in order to start a fight. His anger is justified, after living the childhood he did, I just am concerned with his actions because of that anger. Children of abusers sometimes develop anger issues.
MAGA grandpa and Cole's mom in jail again--perfect!

Yes. He's losing time when he overloads on the anger.

Yes. He's losing time when he overloads on the anger. That's not healthy. What about being so defiant and argumentative with Cole's dad to the point of getting doors slammed? I'm pretty sure the dad was being way too protective, or just paranoid. Especially if he purposefully forgot about things like prepaid phones and private numbers. Depending on the provider they should also have been able to disable the gps at the request of an account holder. Someone said Mr Petrakis was acting selfishly, but it feels like Cole's dad is being more selfish. Even not trusting other family members to help keep Cole safe. It might end up making Cole hate him, too. Then, again, Cole and Drew feel way too needy for each other. If they've gotten as far in their relationship as they are professing, they should have enough faith to know that you can trust and love someone even if you never physically see them anymore ...
